The Division 2's Update With New Mode Just Got Delayed

Ubisoft Massive announced that the release of the next major update for Tom Clancy's The Division 2 has been delayed. The patch, which will offer, among other things, a new gameplay mode, will not be released until 2022.

IN A NUTSHELL:
  1. The next big update to The Division 2 will be released only in February 2022;
  2. Originally, the patch was supposed to launch at the end of this year;
  3. The update will introduce, among other things, a new gameplay mode, debuting in The Division series.

We have bad news for fans of Tom Clancy's The Division 2. The announced release of the big update with a new gameplay mode has been delayed. The patch will be released only in February next year. Originally, the patch was supposed to launch at the end of 2021.

This information was announced on the official website in a message describing plans for the game's future. The creators apologized for the lack of activity in recent months (when we received mostly repetitions of old events) and assured that next year will be different in this respect. The game's current condition is not a big surprise. The original plan was to finish its development on update number twelve, which was released in December 2020. Tom Clancy's The Division 2 still has such a large and active community, however, that it was decided to continue supporting the project. However, it takes a lot of time to create new content, which is why 2021 was leaner in this regard than previous years.

The creators are not yet ready to reveal the details of the next update. We only know that it will bring a new mode, new to The Division series, as well as launch a new season and bring a lot of other content to the table. The release was delayed because the devs need more time to properly polish the update's various elements.

Ubisoft Massive also announced what we can expect in the coming months. The current seventh season will end this December. After that we can expect a series of attractions, in the form of refreshed versions of the most popular events of the series, enriched with new challenges and rewards.

Tom Clancy's The Division 2 launched in March 2019 on PC, Xbox One and PlayStation 4. The PC version until today is available only in Epic Games Store and Ubisoft Store.
