Denver Air Connection issues news release on status of Watertown, Pierre service

Regional air carrier Denver Air Connection issued a news release today regarding air service in Watertown and Pierre. The text of that release can be found below:
ENGLEWOOD, Colorado–Yesterday (Tuesday), it was formally announced that SkyWest Airlines will be exiting the Pierre and Watertown markets effective January 3rd.
It was unprecedented in the Essential Air Service (EAS) system that an incumbent would continue flying in a market after losing the EAS contract to another airline, after the new airline began service. Despite a very public headwind, Denver Air Connection began service on July 1st and has made good on the promises made.
Since July, Pierre and Watertown have been able to see our operation up close and personal. We are grateful for the recent statements made by public officials affirming the quality of our service.
Denver Air Connection enjoys an interline agreement with United Airlines and passengers will continue to have access to the United network beyond January 3rd. Tickets that connect to United can be found on www.united.com
In addition, low everyday fares are available at www.denverairconnection.com , and at all major travel sites such as www.expedia.com, www.kayak.com, www.orbitz.com etc.
Passengers that have flown with us have been pleased to find that Denver Air Connection charges no bag fees for the 1st checked bag for regularly sized and weighted baggage. Overweight and oversize baggage may incur a fee. If connecting to another carrier please check with that carrier on bag fees. Checked baggage connecting from or to the United network need only be checked in the originating city and will transfer to United flights.
Passengers holding tickets affected by the changes can expect re-accommodating from United to our flights. Our call center is also available to assist at 866-373-8513.
