Chase Rice, Forward Hospitality Group team up on new Flats East Bank venue

Welcome to the Farm -- a new venue, bar and restaurant in Cleveland's Flats East Bank neighborhood -- is set to open in December.

CLEVELAND, Ohio -- Country star Chase Rice teamed up with Forward Hospitality Group to create “Welcome to the Farm,” a new entertainment venue at Flats East Bank. The space is set to open in December, according to a press release.

“We’ve been working on this for a while and I’m excited to finally let everyone in on the secret,” Rice said in a press release. “I’ve had a blast learning about another side of the entertainment and hospitality industry and getting to put my stamp on things at Welcome to the Farm. I can’t wait to welcome y’all in December!”

Rice helped design the 5,250 square feet of newly constructed space into a live music venue, bar and restaurant that will “give patrons a glimpse into the lifestyle behind his music,” a press release states. Welcome to the Farm is located on the Cuyahoga River, and will feature a center stage with room for 280 audience members. Other features include a waterfront patio space and garage doors which can open on all sides of the venue.

Welcome to the Farm’s address is listed on Google as 1054 Old River Road, located near Alley Cat Oyster Bar and other popular Flats businesses.

Rice said in a press release that he was inspired to open a business in Ohio because of his ties to the area; his father grew up in the state and played football at The Ohio State University.

“Not only is Ohio special to me as an artist and because of my dad’s connection to the area, but Cleveland itself is also a really inspiring city as a musician,” Rice said in the press release. “It’s awesome to know that we’ll be just a mile down the road from the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame, which is home to people like The Rolling Stones, Bruce Springsteen, Nirvana, Tom Petty and so many more who have all had a huge impact on my career.”

Rice is known for his hit country-pop songs “Eyes On You,” “Lonely If You Are,” “Ride” and more. He’s also known for his songwriting skills; Rice co-wrote Florida Georgia Line’s hit single “Cruise.”

Forward Hospitality Group owns a couple of nearby properties: FWD and Goodnight John Boy, which opened this past summer.
