WYOMING COUNTY, WV (LOOTPRESS) – A Beckley man faces charges from Wyoming County after crashing a car and kidnapping a woman.
According to State Police, on Thursday, September 30, 2021, troopers came upon a crashed 2015 white Mitsubishi in Ravencliff. It was later determined that the vehicle belonged to the suspect’s brother-in-law. After a call was made to Wyoming County 911 stating that Douglas Ayers had gone to a female’s house and assaulted her.
According to the female victim, she had a DVP on Ayers. Ayers showed up at her house without an invite, and an altercation began. Ayers threw her firearm and grabbed her cell phone. Ayers then forced the woman inside her phone and made her sit on the couch as he went through her phone. Ayers then headbutted her in the nose twice, bit her cheek, and choked her. The woman said that Ayers told her that both of them were going to die on that night. The female was able to get away and took off in her car, but Ayers chased her. She was unaware that he had wrecked.
Police could see severe bite marks on the victim’s face, bleeding, bruising, and swelling.
Ayers is charged with burglary, domestic battery, strangulation, kidnapping, malicious assault, and DVP violation. He is currently in Southern Regional Jail under a 300,000 dollar bond.
