Hibernian star makes massive claim about Celtic’s bad record

The game between Celtic and Hibernian is going to be a very important one in the Scottish Premiership title race. And the result could end up having a huge impact on both clubs’ seasons moving forward.

It is funny how quickly things have changed surrounding the two teams. Not too long ago, it was looking like Hibernian could mount an unlikely title challenge this season after a brilliant start to the campaign. They have lost three on the trot in the Premiership though and are in a difficult situation right now.

On the other hand, a few weeks back Celtic were struggling badly and were quite some distance away from Hibernian. They have won three on the trot in the Premiership though and are now actually four points ahead of Jack Ross’ side.

Form might go out of the window when the two sides meet at Easter Road though and Celtic’s disappointing record there will be a worry for Ange Postecoglou. Paul McGinn’s recent comments appear to suggest that the Hoops struggle away at Hibernian because of their fans. As reported by the Daily Record, the defender said regarding impact of the supporters:

"“It’s massive. It will be part of the reason why Celtic have such a bad record because the fans come in numbers, and they make a lot of noise.”"

This is a very important game even this early in the campaign. Celtic have picked up some form recently but will need to carry on with the momentum. They are nowhere near where they will want to finish the season.

Easter Road has definitely been a difficult place for the Hoops to travel to in recent years. They have managed only one win in their previous eight games there and their last league win away against Hibernian came in 2014.

It is safe to say that the club will need to get a positive result this time around from the game. Their good form combined with Hibernian’s recent struggles is a cause for optimism.
