Introducing Unusual Findings, An 80’s 8-bit Adventure

Do you love 80’s themed shows and movies such as Stranger Things or The Goonies? Have you ever wished that you too could live out that sort of adventure? Well, look no further! Developed by Epic Llama and published by Buka Entertainment, Unusual Findings aims to scratch that very itch. This 8-bit point-and-click adventure follows three friends in the 80’s as they delve into the world of pay-per-view channels, VHS Rental stores, and alien conspiracies!

This game begins with the three friends- Vinny, Nick, and Tony- attempting to decrypt a pay-per-view adult channel. In the process of doing so, they come across an alien distress signal coming somewhere in their town. When these three friends go to investigate, they come to realize that this mystery alien has started killing specific members of their community.

Boasting voice acting, branching narratives, and perfect pixel-art, this game looks a far cry from its humble beginnings. The game was initially a Kickstarter campaign by a small Argentinian-based team of developers. As they began to gain traction and funding, the game began to unfold. As of now, the Kickstarter for the game sits at an impressive $9,500, with the goal having been recently extended with the release of a new trailer.

A short demo has also been released on Steam, ready to give players a taste of what’s to come. Although the game is still in development, fans have begun cropping up on social media, boosted by the release of a demo.

With the game’s release date set for the end of this year, fans can expect to be satiated soon!

Unusual Findings will be coming to PC, Nintendo Switch, Xbox Series X|S, and Playstation 4 and 5 this Winter of 2021.

Victoria Taurizano: Victoria’s fascination with games dates as far back to the early days of Newgrounds, where she became enthralled with the patchwork flash games that the site boasted. From there, she continued onward, playing a multitude of different games, diversifying her taste with every new day. Whether it was talking to Alduin at Skyrim’s peak, or romancing Sebastian in Stardew Valley, she has always been fixated on the mechanics of games, as well as the diversified culture that backgrounds them. Even to this day she continues trying new genres: from RPGs, to Roguelites, to even more quaint experiences found in Cozy games.
