Normal Fire responded to a fire at Rivian plant

UPDATE (8:35 p.m.) — The Normal Fire Department released more information about a fire that occurred at the Rivian Automotive Plant Tuesday.

According to Normal Fire department Public Information officer Matt Swaney, the normal fire department responded to the fire just after 5 p.m.

Firefighters extinguished the fire quickly and ventilated the smoke from the building.

There were no injuries reported, and no damage done to the building itself. The assembly process was unaffected.

The scene was clear at 7 p.m.


NORMAL, Ill. (WMBD) — The Normal fire department responded to the Rivian Automotive Plant due to a fire Tuesday.

Plant employees evacuated as a precaution.
