GARYSBURG — Barbara Ann Hardy Porch, 69, entered eternal rest Wednesday, Oct. 20, 2021, while in the care of Vidant Medical Center in Greenville.

She was born on May 1, 1952, in Northampton County, to the parentage of the late Deacon Lonza C. Hardy Sr. and the late Morlene (Harding) Hardy.

Those left behind to cherish Barbara’s memories are two children, Barbara Jean Porch of Raleigh and Michael Anthony Porch of Knightdale; two sisters, Gloria Jean Hardy of Bronx, New York, and Gwendolyn A. Manning of Roanoke Rapids; two brothers, Lonza Hardy Jr. of Newport News, Virginia, and James Hardy of Greenville; two nieces, Samantha Manning of Roanoke Rapids and Monique Pollard of Winterville; two nephews, Langford Manning Jr. of Cary and Rashad Hardy of Bronx; three great-nephews, Dominic and Jordan McCain of Roanoke Rapids and Jailen Dawson of Winterville; one aunt, Ethel Darden of Bronx; a host of close cousins, including Bernard Terry of Garysburg, who ran errands for Barbara; three very special longtime friends, Evelyn Mitchell of Weldon, Linda Clements of Garysburg and Lucille Allen of Halifax; other relatives and friends.

A viewing will be held from 2 to 6 p.m., with the family present from 4 to 6 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 28 at T.L. Faison’s Funeral Care, 301 Park St. in Seaboard, which is handling the arrangements.

A homegoing celebration will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, Oct. 29 at Faithful Band Missionary Baptist Church on Cornwallis Road in Pleasant Hill, with the Rev. Gregory L. Evans delivering words of comfort. Mrs. Porch will be laid to rest in the church cemetery.
