TikTok’s Bryce Hall acknowledges the New York Jets’ Bryce Hall

In April 2020, the New York Jets drafted Virginia cornerback Bryce Hall in the fifth round of the NFL draft. Around the same time, social media personality Bryce Hall was on the rise. The latter Hall is the one who comes up first if you Google the name.

As we stand today, Bryce Hall the cornerback has established himself as the Jets’ number one outside corner as well as a rising young star in the NFL, while TikTok personality Bryce Hall has amassed 21.1 million followers and over one billion likes.

Prior to this week, neither Hall has mentioned the other. That changed on Tuesday as TikToker Bryce Hall broke the silence on the Barstool Sports podcast “Son of a Boy Dad: Ep. 25.”

Hall voiced his concern over the possibility of being the second-most famous Bryce Hall as the Jets corner grows a bigger name for himself.

“He better not get more famous,” said host and Barstool personality Adam Ferrone, jokingly. “I know. That would suck,” Hall responded.

Joking aside, the TikTok star had some nice things to say about the Jets corner. “He’s phenomenal … like he’s doing great, he’s having a great season,” Hall said.

It seems the TikToker is up to date with his football knowledge, as he hit the nail right on the head. New York’s Hall has quickly established himself as one of the top young corners in the league only seven weeks into his sophomore season.

Hall took six games to allow his first passing touchdown, and that was a trick play dialed up by Patriots offensive coordinator Josh McDaniels. That score stands as the only one Hall has yielded over 254 snaps in coverage this year.

Completions of any kind in Hall’s direction have been rare. According to Pro Football Focus, Hall has allowed a reception once every 14.0 coverage snaps this season, which ranks ninth-best out of 76 qualified cornerbacks.

During the podcast, TikTok’s Hall said he felt that there’s a good chance the Jets’ Hall “hates” him, which he based strictly on his personal belief. Despite these feelings, the TikToker showcased a desire for a collaboration with his name twin. When asked why he doesn’t hate him back, Hall responded, saying “Nah, cause like, his path is respectable.”

The Jets’ Bryce Hall was a two-star prospect out of Bishop McDevitt High School in Harrisburg, Pa. before committing to the University of Virginia as a wide receiver. Hall started multiple games as a true freshman after transitioning to cornerback and would go on to start every game as a sophomore.

After a dominant junior season in which he led college football in pass breakups, Hall was projected to go in the first round of the 2019 NFL draft. Hall opted to return for his senior season.

“I wanted to finish what I started here,” Hall said. “This program gave me so much. Before I leave, I want to give everything I have to them.”

Unfortunately for Hall, he would injure his ankle midway through the season, ending his college football career.

Because of Hall’s concerning injury, he fell to the fifth round of the 2020 NFL draft, where the Jets were lucky enough to snag him.

After spending the entire 2020 offseason and the first eight games of his rookie season recovering from his ankle injury, Hall appeared in the Jets’ final eight games as a rookie, starting in seven. He showed promise as he held his own against players like Keenan Allen and Robert Woods.

When you consider all the ups and downs he’s faced throughout his football career, the Jets’ Hall has certainly had a highly respectable path to success.
