Who Is Freddie Freeman's Wife, Chelsea Freeman?

In baseball, there are a few names that dominate the game. We are talking, of course, about players like A-Rod, Derek Jeter, and (long ago, but still) Hank Aaron. However, with every new season comes a new batch of players to watch. This year, all eyes are on those taking part in the Braves versus Astros World Series, per ESPN, with Game 1 on October 26. One of the bigger names in the mix is Freddie Freeman, first baseman for the Atlanta Braves.

The past 12 months have been a bit of a mixed bag for Freddie. In 2020, he became severely ill with a COVID-19 diagnosis that could have easily affected his athletic future. Thankfully, Freddie made a full recovery and by November was named National League MVP, per ESPN. This year's season, the last of his eight-year, $135 million contract with the Braves, per EIVF, has turned out even better than the last — with Freddie headed straight for a potential world series ring.

You know what they say, though; behind every great man is an even greater woman — enter: Chelsea Freeman, the storied player's wife. Chelsea is the perfect match for Freddie in that her life story has been just as fascinating as his.

Chelsea Freeman struggled to start a family but an amazing happy accident occured

After finding her one and only, Freddie Freeman, there was only one thing left that Chelsea Freeman wanted to do; start a family. Soon enough, Chelsea was pregnant with their first son, Charlie, who she delivered via emergency C-Section. But having a second child took two years of effort. "It was a lot of doctors' appointments, a lot of procedures, a lot of tests," Chelsea told EIVF earlier this year on expanding her brood. "A lot of them by myself, because it was during the baseball season. It's all worth it in the end, but going through that ... definitely one of the hardest things mentally that you could go through."

Eventually, Chelsea and Freddie decided to go the surrogate route. However, they were in for the (happy) shock of their lives. Nine days before the embryo transfer, Chelsea found out she was indeed pregnant. Rather than halt the plans, she and her husband decided to proceed with surrogacy and natural pregnancy. Nine months later, Chelsea gave birth to a little boy, Brandon, and six weeks later, the surrogate gave birth to son Maximus, per ESPN. Now they're a family of five! "We're going to be tired for 25 years," Freddie told ESPN.

Chelsea Freeman also has a career of her own

While Freddie Freeman is busy making a name for himself as a soon-to-be sports legend, his wife, Chelsea Freeman, has an impressive resume of her own. When Chelsea and Freddie met in 2011, she was a model whose beauty immediately caught his eye, per Heavy. She started modeling back in 2010 to help pay for her education at the University of Central Florida, per Heavy, and worked with brands like Ferrari and Harley Davidson.

However, these days, Chelsea has pivoted away from work in front of the camera and refocused her energy on becoming a successful businesswoman. She's a registered real estate agent selling houses for upwards of $5 million in the Atlanta, Georgia area, where she and Freddie landed (naturally) after getting married in 2014.

But that's not all; Chelsea also has a pretty successful side hustle going on. She also runs the Chelsea Freeman collection, a clothing and accessories line she was inspired to get off the ground when COVID-19 hit in 2020. Chelsea evidently saw a hole in the market for stylish clothes for baseball fans and their kids. And that's a hole she intends to fill with frappuccino-inspired earrings and cute $42 leggings. Yay!
