Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Capital Region (BBBSCR) has moved its fourth Over the Edge event fundraiser to Thursday because bad weather is forecast for Friday.
The event will run from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. in Harrisburg.
Over the Edge participants will rappel a 21-story descent from the rooftop of the Fulton Bank building, 200 N. 3rd St., to the sidewalk of Locust Street, according to a press release. Event participants raise funds to provide ongoing support for BBBSCR’s one-to-one youth mentoring programs. Several police officers volunteering in BBBSCR’s “Bigs in BlueSM” program will be participating in the rappel, the release said.
Temperatures in the mid-60s under partly cloudy skies with little wind is the forecast for Thursday.
Friday looks much messier, with periods of rain and breezy conditions lasting into the evening. Highs will only get into the mid-50s. That will set the stage for a cloudy and cool weekend, with highs in the low to mid-60s. Temperatures are forecast to turn even cooler by the middle of next week.
