Disney Legend Alan Menken is performing a live show at the Ridgefield Playhouse in Ridgefield, Connecticut on November 6, 2021. This show, A Whole New World of Alan Menken has Menken performing the music he has created throughout his life and shares stories about the songs that have become beloved Disney classics. This includes music from The Little Mermaid, Beauty and the Beast, Hercules, Tangled, and many more.
“It’s an overview of my life and career and kind of the stories behind the songs,” Menken shared with the CT Insider. “And the opportunity to do it sort of in my own backyard is really cool.”
Menken has performed this show around the world, including at the 2017 D23 Expo.
Menken continues to create music for Disney. Currently, he has new projects that include new songs co-written with Lin-Manuel Miranda for the live-action The Little Mermaid, a sequel for Enchanted, and also a Broadway version of Disney’s Hercules.
