BLUEFIELD, W.V. (LOOTPRESS) – A officer with the Bluefield Police Department has been arrested for domestic battery and domestic assault after pushing a woman to the ground outside of a Bluefield bar early Sunday morning.
According to police reports, just before 6 o’clock on Sunday morning, Bluefield Police Department Chief, Dennis Dillow, requested the assistance of the West Virginia State Police in an incident involving the accused, James E. Mullins. Mullins was off duty at the time of the incident.
When a trooper arrived on the scene it was determined that Mullins had been in a physical altercation with the victim.
When questioned by police at the Bluefield Police Department, Mullins stated that he had received a call from the victim, who said she was being held against her will at Gregs Sports Bar on South Street. Mullins said he traveled to the bar and physically removed the victim from the establishment. The two then got into an altercation, which ended with Mullins pushing the victim to the ground, causing her to scrape her knees.
Mullins was arrested and charged.
