It doesn’t seem like Allen Robinson is long for this Bears franchise after this season. Which hasn’t been helped by his lack of production and involvement on offense through the first seven weeks.

Robinson has 23 receptions for 250 yards and one touchdown in seven games this season. Robinson’s ineffectiveness has been due to a combination of a struggling passing game and lack of chemistry with rookie quarterback Justin Fields.

There have been questions about whether or not Nagy is losing the locker room. First, it was Marquise Goodwin criticizing Nagy’s gameplan. Next, it was Jaylon Johnson putting Nagy on blast about a $2,500 fine for being late. Now, it’s the team’s star receiver pointing the finger at Nagy for a lack of chemistry between Robinson and Fields.

“That’s something that we’re continuing to build on, continuing to get reps in practice,” Robinson told reporters Tuesday. “There weren’t any snaps that we kind of took in training camp. A lot of these things, we’re trying to build on.”

Robinson pointed out exactly what fans and media were complaining about during training camp and preseason. While Andy Dalton was the starter at the time, not giving Fields any reps with the first-team offense was criminal. Now, the Bears offense is paying the price.

There’s been an obvious disconnect between Fields and Robinson in Fields’ five starts, and it’s hard not to believe it would be better had Fields gotten some reps with him before the season.
