The 2022 Chrysler Pacifica Hybrid just got more expensive for the new model year. Another slight bump in a vehicle’s price is nothing new with each coming year. Though this year the entire Chrysler brand has only three different vehicles in its lineup. The standout star is the Pacifica, so it needs to come to impress along with its increase in cost. According to MoparInsiders, the Pacifica is having a tremendous reduction in variations of options and equipment. Not because it’s losing features, but because everything is being consolidated into packages that can’t always be purchased together.

How much does a 2022 Chrysler Pacifica Hybrid cost?

For the 2021 model year, the Chrysler Pacifica Hybrid‘s starting price was $44,920 for the Touring L model. Moving up the line of trims, the Limited starts at $48,045, and the Pinnacle tops it off at $53,550. The standard Pacifica starts in the low-to-mid thirties but reaches an even higher maximum in the Pinnacle trim.

For 2022, MoparInsiders says the Pacifica Hybrid Touring L starts at $46,760. The same pattern follows with the Limited at $50,660, and the Pinnacle starting at $54,940. There’s also a destination charge of $1,495 attached to every vehicle sold. We’re seeing a roughly $2,000 increase for each and every Chrysler Pacifica Hybrid trim level.

What’s new for the 2022 model year?

With every price increase, there’s a bunch of upgrades to the model that make it worth the price. The Chrysler Pacifica Hybrid is no different. For 2022, it gains optional Amazon Fire TV for the rear-seat entertainment systems as well as a new in-cabin air-filtration system. The Hybrid model specifically newly has a Max Regeneration indicator for the gauge cluster as well as a new Silver Mist exterior color option.

If a new color and a Max Regeneration indicator don’t seem like enough to make a price hike worth it, it’s because it isn’t. Those are the only options CarAndDriver noted as new additions to the vehicle for the 2022 model year. For that reason, we would recommend trying to get the 2021 model before they’re completely sold out. If that’s not possible, just wait a few more years until Chrysler inevitably has to overhaul its entire lineup, because it only has three vehicles left.

More consolidation, less customization

Fewer variations in options and equipment is the understatement of the century. The available combinations of options and equipment is reduced from 3,550 to 53 for 2022. Consolidating everything into packages to be added onto the Pacifica Hybrid cause the reduction.

The 2022 Chrysler Pacifica Hybrid is not yet available on Chrysler’s build & price tool. Therefore, we’re unable to view the contents of the packages as well as the price tag each one receives just yet. The Touring L bottom trim for 2021 has three packages available, S Appearance, Uconnect Family Theater Group, and Roadside Emergency Kit. We expect there to be a few more for 2022, at a higher price.

The 2022 Chrysler Pacifica Hybrid is getting an underwhelming number of upgrades for the new model year. It certainly isn’t enough to warrant a price jump, even if it isn’t a drastic difference. The minivan received a heavy refresh in 2021, so we’d highly recommend sticking with the cheaper, newly refreshed option if possible. Past that point, just wait a few years to see what’s happening with the Pacifica and the Chrysler 300, the only two models remaining.
