Recently, I was shopping at a local grocery store, and I observed that almost everyone was in compliance with the mask mandate.
One man and one woman walked about the store unmasked.

Although masks provide some protection for the wearer, the real benefit is that masks prevent people from spreading the virus.
However, here is my problem: I am a cancer survivor who is in remission for leukemia and am far more susceptible to dying from an infection of COVID-19. Are people so callous that they do not care if they hurt someone else, or are they just uninformed?
Not getting a vaccination is prolonging the pandemic and placing in jeopardy those who do not receive any benefit from vaccination. If you won’t get vaccinated, please protect others by the simple measures of wearing a mask and maintaining social distance.
I wonder when we got the right to transmit a lethal disease because we do not want to wear a mask? Knowingly transmitting a lethal disease can be just as deadly as shooting a person.
A recent study of blood-cancer patients showed that over half of them do not develop any antibodies from the vaccine for COVID-19, making it important that they do not come in contact with anyone who has the virus; it could be a death sentence for these patients.
Please keep your distance; wear a mask, and if you ever want life to get back to normal, get vaccinated.
