EastEnders spoilers follow.

EastEnders' Jean Slater will take drastic action over newcomer Eve next week, as she becomes determined to get Eve away from her daughter, Stacey Slater.

Stacey (Lacey Turner) returned to the Square in last night's episode (October 25) after being released from prison to find that an excited Jean (Gillian Wright) had thrown a party for her, although there was heartbreak in store for Stacey's ex-husband Martin Fowler (James Bye), as she admitted to him that she has got remarried since their split.

Later this week, newcomer Eve Unwin (Heather Peace) shows up at the Queen Vic and a delighted Stacey, who was in prison with Eve, embraces her – although Jean is less pleased to see Eve.

In scenes to air next week, Stacey tries to convince Jean to let Eve stay with the Slaters. She soon comes up with an idea and she and Eve approach Suki Panesar (Balvinder Sopal), the Slaters' landlady. Suki is left fuming at the prospect of not being able to evict the Slater family from their home.

Later on, Stacey and Eve tell Jean all about what has happened. After Stacey leaves, Jean firmly orders Eve to pack her bags and get out of their house.

Stacey soon realises that Eve is gone – will this drive a wedge between her and Jean?

Actress Heather Peace recently opened up about what Eve will bring to the Square, teasing that her character "just can't avoid getting into trouble".

"She's got quite a quick temper and is a little bit erratic but she's very, very fair and very, very just, so when she does go and do something that is highly illegal or morally on the border, you will quite often understand why she's doing it," she said. "But it's probably something I wouldn't do."

Stacey star Lacey Turner has also dropped hints on what's coming up for her character in the near future, sharing her delight over Stacey's "juicy" return bombshell.

"Eve's arrival is causing a bit of trouble at home between Jean and Stacey," she said. "Jean thought she was going to have Stacey all to herself so it has caused a bit of tension between them as well as a few other people.

"Of course Eve managed to arrive and upset a few people straight away! It's been a blast though and I can't wait for everyone to watch it unfold!"

EastEnders airs on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays on BBC One.
