A Manitowoc woman is facing charges after she admitted to attempting to kill her boyfriend.
Officers were sent to a home in the 2100 block of Madison Street just after Noon on Monday (October 25th) on a report of a person who may have shot themselves.
When they arrived, they made contact with a 26-year-old female outside of the residence.
She claimed that there was a dead person inside the residence, but when officers entered the home, they found the woman’s boyfriend alive and well.
She then admitted to the police that she and her boyfriend had been fighting and that she had thrown his things around the house.
The man locked himself in the bathroom, so she decided to grab a .45 caliber handgun, aim it where she thought he was hiding, and pull the trigger.
The gun didn’t fire, so she pulled the trigger again, and again, but it did not fire.
An inspection of the handgun revealed that it didn’t fire because a previous round had failed to extract.
The woman told police that she had intended on shooting and killing her boyfriend.
She is now facing charges of Disorderly Conduct with a Domestic Violence Enhancer, and 1st Degree Recklessly Endangering Safety.
