The Minnesota Timberwolves saw their brief flirtation with perfection end on Monday night during their second of two meetings against the New Orleans Pelicans. Anthony Edwards sounded off on the loss, heaping the blame on himself and his co-stars for not playing more of a team-oriented game.

Veteran Patrick Beverley co-signed on Anthony Edwards' take, claiming that the Timberwolves “disrespected the game” and deserved to take the L for the evening.

“The game of basketball is an emotional game, regardless,” Beverley said. “Officiating, things might go your way, things might not, stay even keel. Have emotion but don’t be emotional. I think for the first quarter, we were really emotional.”

Anthony Edwards clearly wasn't in disagreement. The Timberwolves sophomore shouldered the blame and claimed that he along with Karl-Anthony Towns and D'Angelo Russell, need to do a better job of getting their teammates going to get the win.

“We think we the only ones on the team. We got to be willing to pass the ball. There’s no “I” in team. We can’t beat five people with three people. We beat five people with five people. We got to be willing to play with our teammates. Trust our teammates”

Anthony Edwards, Patrick Beverley, and the rest of the Timberwolves can put this loss behind them in their next few games. They have a tough matchup ahead as the Milwaukee Bucks loom on the schedule.
