Introducing the Cincinnati Bengals

After further watching my Kansas City Chiefs (RIP Mahomes Magic), I would like to announce that I’ll be taking a break from the team due to emotional trauma. With that being said, I’ll be considering myself a Bengals fan for the remainder of the season.

The Andy Dalton-less Bengals? What?

I know, it pains me to admit, but drafting Joe Burrow could be the smartest move the organization has made in its history.

Following Sunday's game against the Baltimore Ravens, the Bengals are off to a 5-2 start sitting at first in the AFC North.

Joe Burrow finished the game with a QBR of 79.8. Burrow completed 60.5 percent of his passes throwing for 416 yards and 3 touchdowns.

Burrow’s college connection to Ja’marr Chase might be the team’s saving grace as the quarterback treats him like a veteran. Burrow trusts Chase and isn't afraid to throw the deep balls or high reaches. This is why when Burrow connects to Chase for an 82-yard touchdown, it’s just another day in the office. The team has great chemistry and it’s what is propelling the new and improved Cincinnati Bengals into a winning season.

Winning 41-17 over the Ravens is absolutely deserved, but as they discussed on Sunday NFL Countdown, if the Bengals couldn’t beat this Ravens team, when would they? The Ravens have been hit with the injury curse, having multiple key players out including being down to their 5th runningback. Do I think the Bengals should be credited for this win? Absolutely. Do I think Baltimore will be let off the hook due to all their injuries? Possibly. Do I think we just witnessed a preview of a playoff game? Yes.

Houston, we have a problem

Just as one team shocks the NFL with their newfound team chemistry, another shocks the NFL in the worst way possible. The Houston Texans are tied with the Miami Dolphins as the worst team in the AFC boasting a 1-7 record so far this season.

Could they be playing close games and ultimately coming up short? I wish.

This past Sunday the Texans faced off against Kylar Murray’s Arizona Cardinals. Houston went into halftime down 17-5. Not only did they end up losing, but the team never found the endzone in the second half. The final score was 31-5 Arizona.

So what’s going on?

Well, part of this has to do with team leader and quarterback Deshaun Watson being unable to play amid sexual assault and misconduct claims they arose in the offseason. Even before the FBI Investigation started, Watson requested a trade following a $156 million contract extension the year before.

The team currently has a lot to take care of off the field, which is rightfully serving as a distraction to their ultimate goal, winning.
