While former Penn State stars like Micah Parsons and Saquon Barkley did not see the field this week due to a bye week and a lingering ankle injury, respectively, the NFL still saw many Nittany Lions put in strong performances.

Here is how Penn State’s NFL population represented Dear Old State in week seven:

Chris Godwin, Tampa Bay Buccaneers

The Buccaneers decimated the Chicago Bears 38-3. Wide receiver Chris Godwin did his fair share of damages, catching eight passes for 111 yards and a first-quarter touchdown.

Godwin now finds himself with the NFL’s 12th-highest receiving yard total this season.

Mike Gesicki, Miami Dolphins

They say National Tight Ends Day gives tight ends a boost across the country, and Mike Gesicki was no exception.

The Nittany Lion accumulated 85 receiving yards and a touchdown on seven catches in the Dolphins’ 30-28 loss to the Atlanta Falcons. Gesicki’s 427 yards on the season puts him at the fourth-highest total among the league’s tight ends.

Miles Sanders, Philadelphia Eagles

A big criticism of the Eagles this season has been on the lackluster usage of starting running back Miles Sanders. It seemed like Sanders was poised for his first big game of the season when Philadelphia’s play-calling gave him five rushing attempts on the opening drive.

It wasn’t meant to be, though. Sanders was carted back to the locker room with an ankle injury late in the first quarter. He finished his team’s 33-22 loss to the Las Vegas Raiders with 30 yards on six rushes.

Allen Robinson, Chicago Bears

Another week, another quiet showing from Allen Robinson. The former Penn State wide receiver picked up two receptions for 16 yards after seeing only four targets.

Yet again, the Bears’ game plan seemed to exclude Robinson as the primary playmaker. After an offseason littered with rumors of his unhappiness in Chicago, you’ve got to wonder if this could be the beginning of the end of Allen Robinson as a Bear.

Nick Scott, Los Angeles Rams

Rams safety Nick Scott had a productive game in the 28-19 win over the Detroit Lions. Scott recorded three tackles, as well as another game-sealing interception, bringing his season total to two.

Blake Gillikin, New Orleans Saints

Punter Blake Gillikin continued building upon an already stellar season Monday night. The budding special teams star punted six times with four falling inside the 20-yard line. His average of 49.8 yards ranks him fifth among all punters in the NFL.

Jesse James, Chicago Bears

In his team’s 38-3 loss against the reigning Super Bowl-winning Tampa Bay Buccaneers, there was a silver lining for Jesse James. The former Penn State tight end broke into the box score for the first time this season and recorded three catches for 20 yards while also forcing a fumble.

Chris Hogan, New Orleans Saints

After eleven seasons in the NFL and two Super Bowl victories, wide receiver and former Penn State men’s lacrosse star Chris Hogan announced his retirement. Once a New England cult hero, Hogan finished his career with 2,836 receiving yards and 19 touchdowns.

Other Notables:

• Adrian Amos, Green Bay Packers defensive back, made six tackles and defended two passes on the way to beating the Washington Football Team 24-10.
• Yetur Gross Matos, defensive lineman for the Carolina Panthers, picked up three tackles in a 25-3 loss to the New York Giants.
• Odafe Oweh had an uncharacteristically quiet day. The defensive lineman recorded a single tackle as the Baltimore Ravens lost to the Cincinnati Bengals 41-17.
• Carl Nassib, defensive lineman for the Las Vegas Raiders, secured a tackle in his 33-22 victory over the Philadelphia Eagles. His teammate, former Nittany Lion tight end Nick Bowers, was moved onto the injured reserve list prior to the game, due to a neck injury.
• Cam Brown, New York Giants linebacker, recorded three tackles in the Giants’ 25-3 victory.
