Police arrest suspect in fatal Harrisburg bar shooting

HARRISBURG, Pa. — Update (Nov. 10): Police arrested Damien Barber, 37, from Harrisburg, on Nov. 10 for the alleged involuntary manslaughter and other related charges connected to the death of Bey.

Update (Oct. 26): According to Dauphin County District Attorney Fran Chardo, Bey was attending a birthday party at Al's Cafe in Harrisburg when a fight broke out, someone pulled a gun and a shot was fired. Bey, an innocent bystander, was hit by the bullet. 

After the shooting, Bey staggered out of the bar and collapse in the alley, where police found her.

Police are investigating a deadly shooting in Harrisburg which occurred on Oct. 25. 

According to police, officers responding to a shots-fired call with a person down at about 9:40 p.m. on the 1300 block of Susquehanna Street discovered 27-year-old Jamie Bey, who was lying on the ground suffering from an apparent gunshot wound.

Bey was transported to a local hospital, where she succumbed to her injuries, police say.

The incident is under investigation. Harrisburg Police do not believe there is an immediate danger to the public related to the incident.
