SHAKER HEIGHTS, Ohio -- Chef Anthony Zappola will finally reopen The Rice Shop in its new home at the Van Aken District this Thursday, Oct. 28.
The eatery, which first opened in Las Vegas and moved to Cleveland’s Ohio City neighborhood and then to University Heights, offers a curated selection of rice bowls including Kentucky fried fish, steak fried rice and tuna poke. It’ll be located at 3403 Tuttle Road, in a space formerly occupied by Restore.
The Rice Shop is not Zappola’s only concept at Van Aken District -- he also runs a French-inspired lunch spot called Le Stand and deli shop Lox, Stock and Brisket at the development’s Market Hall. He also has an Italian restaurant concept planned for Ohio City, according to a May interview with cleveland.com.
