Ingredients

  • 6 ounce bittersweet chocolate, chopped

  • cup heavy cream

  • 1 tablespoon butter

  • 1 8 ounce package cream cheese, softened

  • 2 cup sugar

  • 1 teaspoon vanilla

  • 5 eggs

  • 2 cup all-purpose flour

  • 2 teaspoon baking powder

  • 2 teaspoon ground cinnamon

  • 1 teaspoon baking soda

  • ½ teaspoon salt

  • 1 15 ounce can pumpkin

  • 1 cup vegetable oil

Directions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F. Line a 15x10-inch baking pan with foil, extending foil over edges of pan. Grease foil.

  2. In a small saucepan heat chocolate, cream, and butter over low, stirring just until melted. Let cool and thicken slightly.

  3. In a medium bowl beat cream cheese until smooth. Add 1/2 cup of the sugar and the vanilla; beat until combined. Add one of the eggs; beat on low just until combined.

  4. In a large bowl whisk together flour, the remaining 1 1/2 cups sugar, the baking powder, cinnamon, baking soda, and salt. In a medium bowl whisk together pumpkin, the remaining 4 eggs, and oil. Add to flour mixture. Whisk until smooth. Pour batter into prepared pan.

  5. Alternately spoon chocolate and cream cheese mixtures over pumpkin mixture in pan. Bake 25 to 30 minutes or until set. Cool in pan on a wire rack.

  6. Use foil to lift uncut bars out of pan. Cut into bars. Store in an airtight container in the refrigerator up to 3 days.
