Over a year ago Isiah Terrell Billy went missing on his 30th birthday only to be found dead in a ditch across from a convenience store in Shiprock, New Mexico. His family along with the Federal Bureau of Investigation are searching for answers.According to the FBI, Billy's death is ruled a homicide, it was determined he died of strangulation. Birthdays are a big celebration at the Nelson household, Isiah Terrell Billy shared his birthday with his grandfather and nephew.Billy’s mother, Cee Nelson said, “He was always smiling. Always leave a glance with a smile and I miss that.”Nelson said how hard it's been to deal with the loss of her son.“Every day feels like it was yesterday and his absence. Though he was quiet in his presence, Isiah brought us happiness because you felt good. He would sit there and smile and he was like all their gatherings he would smile. The hardest thing this year without him,” Nelson said.On Monday afternoon, Nelson went to the place where her son's body was found for the first time. The FBI spokesperson says he hopes talking more about the case will move it along. Frank Fisher said, “Every cold case we have there's a face behind it, there's a family behind it that wants justice.”As Isiah’s mom reflects on her son's life she reads a bible verse printed on his funeral program. “Peace I leave with you, my peach I give to with you, I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your heartbeat trump, do not let your heartbeat trouble and do not be afraid. John 14-27,” Nelson read. According to the FBI, although Billy’s case is considered a cold case, they are now offering a $10,000 reward for information that will lead to an arrest and conviction in his care. Anyone with information can call the FBI at 505-889-1300.
