MLB.com Rockies beat reporter Thomas Harding has reported that, per sources, Foster will indeed stay with the organization and perform in a role similar to the now-retired Wiley. In addition, several other coaching roles are being vacated.

Nick Groke of The Athletic reported late Monday night that Colorado Rockies pitching coach Steve Foster has stepped down from his duties.
Foster, who pitched for the Cincinnati Reds before a shoulder injury ended his career, joined the Rockies organization in 2015. Foster was part of a major overhaul in the Rockies’ big league pitching during his tenure, watching over the rise of players like Germán Márquez, Kyle Freeland, Antonio Senzatela, and Jon Gray.
Sources told The Athletic that Foster was stepping down to spend more time with his family, but there is a possibility he remains with the organization in some capacity. The position of Director of Pitching Operations is now open after longtime coach Mark Wiley retired last week.
Foster will be replaced in the dugout by bullpen coach Darryl Scott. Scott was appointed as the bullpen coach prior to the 2020 season, and has been a coach and coordinator in the Rockies’ organization since 2009.
It’s unknown what this shakeup might mean for the future of the organization, such as the contract talks with Jon Gray or other acquisitions that might occur during the offseason.
