Scruci sends out letter previewing quarantine protocol changes

BGHS students leave school after their first day back to in-person classes in February.

Bowling Green Superintendent Francis Scruci sent an email to school district parents, guardians and staff regarding quarantine rules. Scruci and other superintendents in the county expect to have further details Tuesday.

This is the letter sent out by Scruci this evening:

Today, the Ohio Department of Health changed some of the quarantine rules that schools have been following since the beginning of this academic year. This afternoon the superintendents from Wood County schools met with the Wood County Health Commissioner to learn about the new guidance.  We will have finalized information on any changes in protocols, including mask wearing by tomorrow (Tuesday) afternoon.

We are working through all of the different logistics that accompany this change, and there are several. One thing that will not change is the mask mandate on buses. Since school buses fall under federal law, and there has not been any change in their policy, all of our students and staff who utilize a school bus in any capacity will continue to be required to properly wear a mask.

Thank you for your continued support and flexibility in this matter. Once everything is finalized, we will be emailing you with any changes. Please be patient and I will communicate the changes to you as soon as possible.
