EastEnders spoilers follow.

EastEnders will kick off a mysterious new story for Vi Highway next week.

Vi, played by Gwen Taylor, arrived in Walford earlier in the year, but little else is currently really known about her backstory.

Fans will get their first major insight into Vi's past next week when Rainie senses that something is amiss with her.

Vi explains that her that her son Jonno has sold all her belongings. She urges Rainie not to tell Stuart but the matter is taken out of her hands when he spots Billy flogging the items from a house clearance.

Realising that it's all Vi's belongings, Stuart takes everything back, leaving Billy despairing.

He then empties everything on the table in front of Vi and is furious to learn what's happened.

With Stuart's temper rearing its ugly head, Vi tries to calm him down and urges him to leave his estranged father Jonno alone.

Once alone, Vi starts to panic as she searches through the pile of things and realises something isn't there.

Worried, Vi storms over to Billy's stall, looking for an antique children's book but is left horrified to learn that he has sold it to Kim.

To make matters worse, Kim refuses to return the book, leaving Vi panicked. However, when Patrick looks closely, he finds an interesting photograph in the book...
