The Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. is not pleased with Issa Rae and her show, “Insecure,” after one of the characters portrayed an AKA.

Last night, (Oct. 24) the final episode of “Insecure” premiered on HBO. In the episode, Amanda Seales’ character, Tiffany, is apart of the AKA Sorority- which many online users deemed disrespectful.

After the episode aired, both Amanda and Issa received major backlash by sorority members. Amanda jumped online and clapped back at the backlash. She explained that she is an actress simply playing a fictional role.

Issa Rae also jumped online to react to some of the backlash.

On Twitter, a fan of the show tweeted, “okay so hold up. This girl is not a Soror and had my SHIELD on her body?! @IssaRae @insecurhbo please do not do that again. That’s wildly disrespectful!” In which Issa sarcastically replied, “Oh shit, let me tell @HBO to delete the one of the upcoming episodes then, hold on…”
