Sunday’s atmospheric river storm ravaged the Bay Area, wreaking havoc and creating perilous conditions on the roadways – vividly depicted by stunning images of two overturned semi-trucks on the Richmond-San Rafael Bridge, blown over by the sheer force of the devastating wind.

Both frightening incidents took place on Sunday afternoon during the massive downpour.

A driver behind one of the trucks was able to capture the accident on video as it happened.

Traffic can be seen moving slowly on the bridge before halting completely when a big rig in the far right lane is pushed towards the left-most lane and spilled over on its side, blocking the entire roadway. The truck contacts another vehicle in the adjacent lane, which also tips slightly.

In addition, another truck careened onto its side in a separate incident on a different part of the bridge. There is no video of the truck being flipped, however a driver posted to social media a harrowing video of the orange trailer toppled over while leaning against the railing of the bridge.

No other details about the incidents, including any possible injuries, are available.

The National Weather Service said winds reached as high as 92 miles per hour in higher peak regions during the storm, while 40 to 50 mile per hour gusts filtered into the low areas.
