A beaming grin on his face, and his fists lofted in the air in front of his jubilant supporters, Neil Critchley could not deny the vestiges his former colleague, Jürgen Klopp, left on his career.

Critchley's passionate greeting as a form of gratitude to his home fans has been a regular occurrence in the Championship this season.

His Blackpool side have begun the season in stupendous form and have put themselves in contention for promotion to the Premier League.

But it's not just Critchley's fist pumps at the end of games that are reminiscent of Klopp. No, it's his character and playing style, too.

When Critchley was appointed as Blackpool head coach, the former Premier League side had been languishing in mid-table in League One.

Critchley quickly got to work to transform the side.

The former Liverpool U23 coach showed signs of his tactical prowess leading Klopp's Liverpool at half-time in a pre-season friendly after just a few months in charge of Blackpool.
