MACON, Ga. -- Harveys Supermarket locations are giving employees the day off on Thanksgiving Day.
Southeastern Grocers announced on Monday that all Harveys Supermarkets will be closed for Thanksgiving this year to thank workers after a tough year.
Harveys Supermarket locations operate in several Middle Georgia cities including Gray, Eastman, Sandersville, Cordele, Montezuma, McRae-Helena, Americus, and Fitzgerald.
The company's CEO wrote they're proud to be named a Great Place to Work for another year and to have been featured in Newsweek's Most Loved Workplaces for 2021.
"The care, commitment and camaraderie displayed by you during this difficult year has unified and strengthened our team to be there for our customers when they needed us most," states CEO Anthony Hucker. "We hope you will enjoy this day of rest while making lasting memories with family and friends. You have worked diligently with extraordinary kindness, and we want you to know we are very thankful. Thank you again for your passionate commitment to making a difference in our communities and continuing to provide shopping experiences our customers can always count on. Know that you matter."
