Floyd Mayweather Shuts Down Male Fan's Picture Request Due To His 'Painted Nails,' He Calls Him A 'Homophobe'

Floyd Mayweather Shuts Down Male Fan's Picture Request Due To His 'Painted Nails,' He Calls Him A 'Homophobe'

The young fan accused Floyd Mayweather of being a "homophobe," with fans on social media slamming the boxing legend's shocking response.

Boxing legend Floyd Mayweather swiftly turned down a male fan’s request for a photo due to his “painted nails.”

The fan in question attempted to land a snap with Mayweather after the Memphis Grizzlies’ win over the Los Angeles Clippers on Sunday.

However, Mayweather shockingly rejected the photo request after spotting the fan’s “painted nails” and his bodyguard told the fan to back up.

“You got painted nails, I don't take pictures with guys with no painted nails,” says Mayweather in a video acquired by TMZ.

The fan could be heard calling Mayweather a “homophobe” and sounded visibly upset with how the boxing legend handled the situation.

He said: “Floyd doesn't want to take a picture with me because my nails are painted. Bruh, really?!”

The fan sent a photo of his nails to TMZ, which were coloured in black.

Witnesses told the publication that Mayweather had ‘zero issues’ taking photos with other people in attendance after the Grizzlies vs Clippers clash.

And TMZ added that the 44-year-old American superstar was ‘posing and smiling on the court with another fan’ at the Staples Center in Los Angeles.

Mayweather, who retired from boxing in 2017 with an undefeated 50-0 record, was slammed on social media for turning down the fan’s photo request due to his nails.

The unbeaten former five-weight boxing world champ last competed against YouTuber Logan Paul in an exhibition fight back in June.

Mayweather was criticised for not stopping Paul in their blockbuster clash at the Hard Rock Stadium in Miami, Florida.

Showtime Sports president Stephen Espinoza suggested that Mayweather’s eight-round fight with Paul could be his last appearance inside the squared circle.

“Despite everything that I've tried over the last six years, this may be the last time we see him in the ring,” he said.

Espinoza added: “Whether you like the exhibition or not, whether you agree on the opponent or not, give this man his flowers today.

“They said he was too small to lead the sport of boxing -- they said there's a small guy, wasn't going to make money.”
