‘Emotional’ Snoop Dogg honors mom in Boston just hours after her death

The show must go on.

A grieving Snoop Dogg took a moment during his pre-scheduled concert at Boston’s Big Night Live venue on Sunday to pay tribute to his mother, Beverly Tate, just hours after her death.

“He was very emotional after the show,” Randy Greenstein, a partner at Big Night Live, exclusively told Page Six on Monday.

“He thanked our team, said he needed this show. He needed the love from the audience. It meant a lot to him.”

The music venue exec added that the hip-hop icon never attempted to cancel and said his mom “would’ve wanted him to do the show.”

Snoop, 50, told the crowd in a video obtained by Page Six that he decided to follow through with the show because “in the spirit of the people of Boston, I wanted to come out here and represent for y’all.”

The packed audience erupted into cheers, and the “Gin and Juice” rapper added, “Before we leave, we’re going to play this record for my mom.”

Snoop then started playing “Stand by Me” by Ben E. King and asked the crowd to throw two fingers in the air to create a sea of peace signs.

Greenstein said that the tribute was Snoop’s idea.

“We didn’t know [about it beforehand],” the exec said. “He just did it.”

Throughout the beginning of the song, Snoop was seen wearing sunglasses, and although he became emotional after the show, he appeared to maintain his composure while performing.

At one point in the video, he took off the shades to sing along to the lyrics, “I won’t cry / I won’t cry / No, I won’t shed a tear / Just as long as you stand, stand by me.”

“I needed this,” Snoop could be heard telling his fans, pumping a fist in the air.

He concluded the show by telling the audience, “I f–king love y’all for getting my spirit right tonight. Peace, love and soul.”

Snoop also posted a video of the tribute on his Instagram on Monday.

Tate died earlier on Sunday at age 70. Her cause of death has not been revealed.

Snoop broke the news on social media, posting a series of photos of his late mom and captioning one of them, “Thank u god for giving me an angel 🕊 for a mother 💖🙏🏽🌹💝 TWMA,” which is an acronym for “‘Til We Meet Again.”
