Flight from New York to L.A. forced to make emergency landing

An American Airlines flight traveling from New York to Los Angeles was forced to make an emergency landing in Wisconsin on Sunday.

The Airbus 321 landed in the state capital of Madison just after 2:15 p.m. Central Time after reports of smoke in the cabin. All 190 passengers and crew were evacuated from the aircraft safely, and no injuries were reported.

L.A.-bound passengers aboard American Airlines Flight 3 were loaded onto a separate aircraft, and are estimated to arrive at LAX just after 3:15 p.m. Pacific Time.

American Airlines will hold the evacuated aircraft in Madison for further inspection.
