Pacific Oil & Gas rebrands as Pacific Energy

Pacific Oil & Gas, part of Singapore’s RGE group of companies, said October 25 it would rebrand as Pacific Energy.

“The Pacific Energy name and new logo reflects the next step in our growth strategy dedicated to providing cleaner energy for North American markets and growing Asian economies,” Pacific Energy president Ratnesh Bedi said. “Our refreshed branding also creates a platform for new product development and future acquisitions.”

It has been active in China since 2003, and was one of the first foreign companies to own interests in LNG import terminals there. It also built China’s first 100% foreign-owned combined cycle gas turbine (CCGT) power plant in Xiamen, and holds a 70% interest in another CCGT facility in Wuxi.

In Canada, Pacific Energy’s upstream exploration and production activities are conducted by Pacific Canbriam Energy, which it acquired in 2019. Pacific Canbriam is active mostly in the Montney basin, and in August earned EO100™ responsible natural gas certification from Equitable Origin.

Earlier this month, it participated in the first trade of methane performance certificates, earned largely on the basis of its EO100™ certification.

Pacific Energy is also developing the 2.1mn mt/yr Woodfibre LNG project 70 km north of Vancouver, BC at Squamish.
