The Green Bay Packers will have a short turnaround between their Week 7 win over the Washington Football Team at Lambeau Field and their upcoming matchup against the unbeaten Arizona Cardinals squad in Glendale on Thursday. Moreover, Aaron Rodgers and the Packers will be without one of the key persons on their coaching staff when they fly to Arizona, with Mike Garofolo of the NFL Network reporting that Green Bay defensive coordinator Joe Barry is out due to COVID-19.

#Packers defensive coordinator Joe Barry has tested positive for COVID-19, sources tell me and @RapSheet. He will surely miss Thursday’s game against the #AZCardinals, though he will be part of the planning virtually.

Fortunately, as noted by Garofolo, Barry will still be able to help the Packers come up with defensive plans that the team hopes will be the antidote to the Cardinals' venomous offense. The Cardinals are fourth in the NFL with 32.1 points per game. They've scored fewer than 31 points just once, so far this season. In Week 7, Arizona blasted the Houston Texans on both sides of the field in a dominant 31-5 victory.

The Packers should be able to present a tougher resistance to Arizona's attack. They are currently seventh in the league with 20.9 points allowed per game and seventh as well in total defense with 331.4 yards surrendered per contest.
