If you’re using Twitter Spaces, and you, for some reason, need to download audio recordings for your past sessions, there’s a way to do that. You can do it from both your desktop (via a browser), or from your phone. It’s quite easy to download your Twitter Spaces audio, and we’ll show you how to do it in this article. Do note that this will require you to download basically all your Twitter data, though, as Twitter did not offer a specific way to get Twitter Spaces audio. Once you grab all your data, though, you’ll be able to access Twitter Spaces audio.
We’ll show you how to do it from both your desktop and your smartphone. You’ll find some screenshots below, which will help guide you one step at a time. Before we start, it is worth noting that Twitter will keep your audio from Spaces for 30 days (up to 90 if the Space was reported for whatever reason), so don’t expect to get your Spaces audio from two months ago. Having said that, let’s get started.
How to download Twitter Spaces audio from your PC
Once you open Twitter.com, and you log in, you’ll see your feed, and a toolbar on the left-hand side. There, you’ll see the “More” option, which you’ll need to click.
In the next menu that opens there, you’ll notice many options. The one we’re aiming for is “Settings and privacy”.
A whole new Settings menu will open, containing all kinds of options. The first one is the one we need, the “Your account” menu. Click that, if it isn’t selected already.
This will open a whole new “Your Account” menu, which contains the “Download an archive of your data” option. Once you click that, you’ll need to enter your password in order to verify your identity.
That’s basically it. Once you verify your identity, you’ll need to wait until Twitter notifies you that your data is ready to download. This may take up to a few days, by the way, depending on how active you’ve been on Twitter.
How to download Twitter Spaces audio from your smartphone
The process is really simple, and similar to what we’ve explained for the desktop side of things. Once you open your Twitter app, presuming you’re logged in, you’ll need to tap on your profile picture in the top-left corner.
A side menu will open on the left side. From that menu, you’ll need to tap the “Settings and privacy” option.
In the next menu, select the “Your account” submenu.
Once “Your account” menu opens, you’ll notice the “Download an archive of your data”, which is technically the same option you’d find on the desktop. Tap that, enter your password, and wait until Twitter lets you know your data is ready to download.
