Fans have been waiting to see some new scenes in Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba Season 2 since the previous episode. After all, Episode 2 was actually the first 25 minutes of Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba the Movie - Mugen Train. Interestingly, we got something different in the third episode and it had a lot to do with Tanjuro Kamado. The father of Tanjiro and Nezuko Kamado returned in a new scene to share an important message to his children.
Demon Slayer Season 2 Episode 3 still featured footage from Mugen Train. This time, it showed what the sleeping Demon Slayer Corps were dreaming about while Enmu prepared to devour the slumbering passengers.
Tanjiro is having fun being reunited with his dead family but his subconscious warns him about the dangers. He struggles to awaken although Nezuko tries to help by using her Blood Magic to burn the rope tied to her brother's wrist.
The desperate Tanjiro runs away from his confused family and returns to the woods, still looking for a way to awaken. That's when his father suddenly appears and tells him to draw his sword. Finally understanding, Tanjiro holds the sword to his neck.
We only saw Tanjuro with his back turned in Mugen Train. However, he reappears in the post-credits scene to reunite with his son in the woods. Tanjuro praises the young Kamado for finding his determination and tells him to stay strong even when in pain.
He also tells Tanjiro to help everyone who is being harmed by demons. Tanjuro's final word confirms that he is leaving Nezuko to his son's care before disappearing. Tanjiro then promises to do his best.
It's the most emotional post-credits scene in Demon Slayer so far and also the first time that a dead character made an appearance in this segment. However, it's a scene that fans truly appreciated and a reunion that was worth the wait.
