HOUSTON (KIAH) – We have got a big change coming our big story this week – a cold front that hits on Wednesday that’s going to bring a significant change with probably some storms.
A cold front will approach from the northwest on Wednesday morning and bring with it a slight risk for severe storms.
Main hazards include:
- Severe winds and locally heavy rainfall.
- Showers and thunderstorms are possible overnight tonight ahead of the front, but strongest activity will be along the frontal boundary.
- This front should move through fairly quickly, but rainfall rates of 1-2+ inches per hour are possible with the stronger storms, which may result in localized urban ponding in poor drainage areas
