Several rounds of rainfall impacted the region Sunday, bringing needed relief to long-term drought that has formed locally.

Most rain gauges in south central Iowa received 2-3” of precipitation in 24 hours. Moderate drought is in place in the region along and north of Highway 92, with severe drought along the South Skunk River basin.

Additional chances for rainfall return mainly Wednesday, with an additional ½” to 1” likely and higher amounts possible in some locations.
