The New York Jets newbie was knocked out of Sunday’s 54-13 loss to the Patriots at Gillette Stadium in Foxborough, Mass. with a knee injury. Wilson is scheduled for an MRI Monday.

Following the blowout loss, former WFAN host Mike Francesa tweeted what many fans were thinking: “Bill B has embarrassed the Jets many times. Never more than today.”

The Patriots (3-4) earned their 12th straight victory and sixth consecutive season sweep over the Jets (1-5).

The 54 points were the most allowed by the Jets since losing 55-21 at New England on Oct. 29, 1978. It was the fourth-most points ever allowed by New York.

“They punched us in the mouth and scored points,” Jets head coach Robert Saleh said. “Been part of some of those in my life. They don’t feel good.”

The Jets trailed 14-0 at the end of the first quarter and have gone scoreless during the first 15 minutes in each of their first six games this season, being shut out, 44-0.

The last team to be held scoreless in the opening period over its first six games was the 2008 Detroit Lions, who went 0-16 that season.
