SO THIS IS HOW WE'RE GETTING SOME REAYLL IMPRESSIVE RAINFALL TOTALS. A CLOSER LOOK, ALONG HIGAYHW 20, THROUGHOUT THE AREAS FARTHER TO THE NORTH INTO BUTTE COUNTY, MESO REALLY IMPRESSEIV RAINFALL, THAT GOES UP TOWARDS THE GRASS VALLEY AREA. ETH FOOTHILLS, SOME AREAS HAVE HAD FIVE SOIX S INCHES OF RAIN AND IT'S STILL COMING DOWN. TO THE FARTHER EAST UP INTERSTATE 80, YES, IT IS RAINING ON INTERSTATE 80. THERE WAS SOME BRIEF SNOW WHEN THIS THING FIRST STARTED. IT'S BEEN ALL RAIN ALL DAY, THE SNOW LEVELS WAY UP THE HILL. THIS IS THE WAY IT LOOKS RIGHT NOW AT DONNER SUMMIT. THAT ROAD IS WET, HAD SHAKING AROUND A LITTLE BIT IN THE WIND. I WANTED TO ALERT YOU TO THIS, THIS RAINY ROAD WILL CHANGE IONT A SNOWY ROAD BY EARLY TOMORROW MORNING. YOU START SEEING A LOT OF STANDING WATER. WITH ALL OF THE RAIN WE'RE SEEING IN THE AREA, OUR AREA'S STREAMS AND CREEKS HAVE BEEN RISING. WHAT ABOUT MODESTO, IT HASTN' EVEN HARDLY RAINED IN MODESTO. STANISLAUS COUNTY HAS BEEN DRY PRETTY MUCH. IT WILL CHANGE LATER ON TONIGHT. The McKinley Park Water Vault, a recently finished East Sacramento construction project met with mixed reactions, is full after recent days of rain filled up the 6-million gallon container.Photos sent to KCRA 3 show flooded streets near where the underground vault lies.Carlos Eliason, a spokesperson for the City of Sacramento, said the vault is built for a 10-year-storm, yet Sunday's rainfall is being estimated as a 100-year-storm. He said flooding would have been much worse had the vault not taken in some of that rainfall.Nearby residents have long voiced complaints about the vault, some even attempting legal action to see its construction halted.Ahead of the weekend storm, concerns over sewage water seeping into the area were voiced. KCRA 3 viewer video and pictures of water accumulated in gutters and across sidewalks after an earlier storm has some neighbors worried Sunday’s rain will prove disastrous.City officials said Sacramento has a combined sewer system, and when the system is overloaded, rain can cause sanitary sewer overflow, or SSO.
