Stephen Curry is perhaps the greatest player to ever play for the Golden State Warriors. He's broken all the shooting records of the franchise. Now, the legendary point guard adds another record to the tally book.

Warriors PR reports that Curry has notched his 5,000th career assist for the franchise. He's the only player to ever reach that level in the team's entire history.

Curry's 5,000th assist came with five minutes left in the second quarter of the Warriors' road tilt against the Sacramento Kings on Sunday. After a missed shot from Buddy Hield, Curry threw a hit-ahead pass to Damion Lee for an open transition three (via Warriors on Twitter).

Curry is well-known for his prolific shooting. After all, this is the man that doubled the single-season record for made threes and then proceeded to break it again the following year. The Warriors legend is, without a doubt, the greatest shooter of all-time.

However, an underrated aspect of Curry's game is his playmaking ability. He's by no means a passing savant like LeBron James or Magic Johnson. However, years of being triple-teamed have allowed the Warriors guard to hone his passing, making him an elite playmaker. Stephen Curry can rack up assists when teams key in on him too hard. His blend of passing and scoring is what makes him such a dangerous opponent.

The Warriors are looking to get back into championship contention this season. With Klay Thompson set to return soon, Curry and company are primed and ready to make a splash in the postseason. Curry isn't done breaking records, not anytime soon. And maybe, just maybe, this record-breaking spree will be the boost they need to win it all this season.
