Driver on joyride destroys lawn and mailbox: Independence Police Blotter

A resident reported seeing a driver do a “burn out” in his yard, damaging the grass, and then speed off at 8:53 p.m. Sept. 26. A neighbor also reported having their mailbox damaged. There were no suspects at the time of the report and the car could only be described by witnesses as being a dark-colored sedan.

Impaired driver, Interstate 77

A driver was seen running a red light and pulling onto Rockside Road with no headlights at 1:57 a.m. Sept. 28. He was pulled over on Interstate 77, failed field sobriety tests and registered more than twice the legal limit for intoxication on a breath test.

Theft, Brecksville Road

A man was arrested at 8:51 a.m. Oct. 2 after being seen by hiding $24 worth of store items inside his pants and leaving a Drug Mart.
