Tacos a la Madre Holds Soft Opening in College Park’s Berwyn Neighborhood

Tacos a la Madre is now open for pickup or walk-ins on weekends in the former location of Fishnet in the Berwyn neighborhood of College Park.

Located at 5010 Berwyn Rd., just off the Rhode Island Avenue Trolley Trail, the family-owned authentic Mexican taqueria plans a grand opening later in November.

The owners of the taqueria got started working out of their home last year and then a temporary location at the Holiday Inn in College Park this past spring before the soft opening at the current spot.

The menu features tacos made with shrimp, Birria, pork sausage, spicy chicken and beef tongue; as well as originals like Papas a la Madre, which are fresh fries with a melted blend of Mexican cheeses with sauces like carne asada, pico de gallo and sour cream.

Herson Romero, the brother-in-law of Pedro Soriano, told the Hyattsville Wire that a popular option since the restaurant opened has been the Birria taco with consommé.

After serving for pickup only since mid-September, Tacos a la Madre now accepts walk-in customers on Saturdays from 1 to 8 p.m. and Sundays from 1 to 6 p.m. After the grand opening, they’ll be open seven days a week. Indoor seating is available on the weekends at their newly renovated location in College Park.

You can order online for pickup here, including pre-orders for the following weekend. You can get updates on their hours and menu items on their Instagram.
