Rose Marie (Cope) Spaugh, 83, of Advance, died on Oct. 20, 2021 from her home in Davie County.
She was born on July 2, 1938 in Davie County, daughter of the late Howard Taft Cope and Mary Jane (Forest) Cope. She was also preceded in death by: her husband, Arthur Spaugh Sr.; 2 sisters, Katherine Burton and Frankie Minor; and one brother, Kenny Cope.
She married the love of her life, Arthur Spaugh Sr. She worked for Henry Link (Dixie) Furniture for more than 20 years. She was a member of Bixby Church of the Living God.
Survivors: 3 sons, Arthur Spaugh (Chuck) of Advance, Mickey Spaugh (Joyce) of Germanton, and Howard Spaugh of Winston-Salem; 6 daughters, Barbara Gillaspie (Melvin) of Lexington, Teresa Masters (Travis) of Advance, and Jane Marlow (Mike) of Shallotte; a sister, Francis Spaugh of Mocksville; 12 grandchildren; and 26 great-grandchildren.
A visitation was held on Friday, Oct. 22 at Davie Funeral Service of Mocksville. A funeral service was held on Saturday, Oct. 23 at 4 p.m. at Davie Funeral Service. David Thomas officiated. She was buried in the Church of the Living God Cemetery.
