A lucky Bucs fan ended up with Tom Brady’s 600th career touchdown pass during the game against the Bears. What did Tampa give him to give it up?

Tom Brady has thrown a ton of valuable touchdown passes in his career. His second one on Sunday was particularly special.

The nine-yard completion to Mike Evans represented Brady’s 600th career touchdown pass. No other passer in NFL history has hit that milestone.

And Evans gave the ball away to one extremely lucky Bucs fan.

Considering the monumental nature of that ball, the immediate question on everyone’s mind was what the fan would get back when a team official came to try to get it back.

So what did the guy get?

What did the Bucs fan with Tom Brady’s TD ball get in return?

The Bucs fan got another ball and a signed jersey, or some variation of that return.

According to Darren Rovell, the value of that ball was something like half a million dollars.

Instead of blasting the fan for giving up something so huge for something so small, let’s talk about how that guy ended up being part of history in just his second game watching the Bucs in person. As a fan, he clearly knew what that ball would mean to Brady. It’s doubtful he had dollar values floating through his head in that moment.

nfl fine for giving away football

There is no fine for giving away a football, though players can be penalized for throwing or punting the ball into the stands. In this case, Evans was only trying to do a good deed and spread the game.

There is precedent for the fan getting a bit more. Danny Amendola did the same thing Evans did with Brady’s 400th career TD pass. That fan exchanged the ball for another one but ended up getting an invite from the quarterback to say thanks in person at the Patriots facility.

Hopefully, Brady and the team extend a similar opportunity to this guy.
