Alabama junior guard Jahvon Quinerly and redshirt sophomore forward Juwan Gary were suspended for Sunday’s men’s basketball exhibition game against Louisiana.
Nate Oats said the suspensions resulted from a violation of team rules but both players will be available for the Nov. 9 regular-season opener against Louisiana Tech.

“That’s all I’m going to say on that thing. We’re moving on,” Oats said. “They’ve handled themselves very appropriately since.”
Quinerly and Gary were on the bench for the game, which Alabama came from behind to win, 73-68.
Alabama played only eight scholarship players in Sunday’s game. Guard Nimari Burnett and forward James Rojas were both on the bench but unavailable because of knee surgeries, while forward Alex Tchikou was in uniform but did not play.
Oats said Tchikou, who missed all of last season because of an Achilles injury, will be available for the regular-season opener.
“He’s able to play,” Oats said. “He has not been able to practice for very long because of the Achilles injury. He’s still getting back in shape. What we needed I didn’t think he could provide, just with where he’s at.”
