UFC 267 goes down this coming weekend (Sat., Oct. 30, 2021) from “Fight Island” in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates, and it is one stacked pay-per-view (PPV) card. Jan Blachowicz returns from his impressive title defense against Middleweight champ Israel Adesanya to fight the always-tough Glover Teixeira, while Petr Yan and Cory Sandhagen fight for the interim Bantamweight title while champ Aljamain Sterling continues to recover from neck surgery.
As always for these big numbered events, UFC has produced a great “Countdown” video, which splits its time between the four fighters in the main- and co-main events, laying out just how this latest interim 135-pound title situation came about. It also tracks Blachowicz’s transformation from middle-of-the-pack Light Heavyweight contender to formidable champion.
And don’t forget, folks: numbered UFC events like UFC 267 are typically PPVs, but this one is free, free, free (provided you subscribe to ESPN+, that is). Being in Abu Dhabi and broadcast for primetime Europe, it will also go down in the afternoon here in the continental Americas. So watch this “Countdown” show, fire up that BBQ and get ready for a great day of fights.
Further down the card, mad lad Dan Hooker turns it around in just over a month to fight the man no one wants to fight, Islam Makhachev. Makhachev has gained the title of Khabib’s protege, and that label will be put to the test against the always tough Hooker, who has recently leveled up his wrestling game.
